Parcel Sorter Loading Bay Operative
We are currently recruiting for experienced and committed evening/night parcel sorters to join the high performing team at Parcelforce in Buckshaw Village, Chorley. We are recruiting for candidates who would be available to work initially a minimum of 2-3 days per week but available and willing to increase to 5 days per week as we approach our busiest period. The operation itself runs all year round and high performing candidates will have the opportunity to secure full time hours as well as pick up additional responsibilities and progress into leadership roles. The shift time will be 8pm until 4am most days however this may change to earlier start times during busy periods. The role itself will entail working on your feet for the majority of the shift, manually handling parcels and packages from trailers and safely onto the state of the art loading and sorting belt. Care must be taken to ensure firstly the safety of each item but also that bar codes are visible and can be scanned before entering the conveyor belt system. Shifts will be allocated based on business demands and there will be quieter periods however candidates who demonstrate reliability and a positive working mentality will have the opportunity to take on more responsibility and subsequently will have more opportunity to pick up extra shifts and secure full time hours when available. The starting pay rate for this position will be £8.45 per hour however this will increase to £12.70 after 12 weeks (working at least once on 12 individual weeks without a 6 week gap).
